Baby number 2 on the way!

This picture was quietly tucked away in my project 365 the other week but I would like to officially announce that Steve and I are expecting a brother or sister for Rhys!
I’m about 13 weeks along now and, after a fair bit of morning-sickness-queasiness and first-trimester-exhaustion, I’m slowly starting to feel more human again!  Just in time to feel ok about stepping out from behind the camera and having my picture taken.  I’m determined to document this pregnancy!  I know I won’t manage a photo of the bump every week but I really want to capture these key moments, like the first scan.
Is anyone else out there newly pregnant?  How are you feeling – sick, well, excited, terrified?!  I’d love to hear about it – leave me a comment below!

Teddy’s newborn photos, Swansea

Remember Kim and Andy?  I took Kim’s maternity photos in Singleton Park, Swansea last year and I am finally getting round to blogging the photos from their newborn session!  So, while this is quite a few months late, I would like to introduce you to Teddy Arnold!
Kim and Andy decided to have their newborn photo session at home in Swansea which is a great idea; nice and comfortable for everyone and everything you need is to hand!  And how gorgeous is Teddy sleeping in his chair?!  I love doing newborn photos at home as you can include the little details of baby’s first few weeks, like the chair they slept in or the blanket they love to be wrapped in.  And in Swansea, with the weather as unpredictable as it is, it’s often safer to opt to stay in with a little one!
Newborn portraits are so much fun as the babies already have so many expressions!  Look at that sleeping frown!  They lose their ‘new’ look so quickly, you have to move fast to capture how they look right at the beginning.

We got a few photos of Teddy dozing, then he was lovely and bright eyed for the rest.  Look at how intently he’s staring at Kim, so sweet!  I love this little moment between the three of them; you can just see how happy they are with the new arrival.

I love how their dog Kira got in on the action again in some of the photos!  Well, it wouldn’t be a proper family portrait without her!

Would you like your own newborn or family photo session in Swansea?  Use the contact form to get in touch – I’d love to hear from you!

Project 365

This was a week of visits from family, birthday trips to the park, late nights (Past 10 o’clock!!), new boots and lazy days in with Rhys.

Project 365

Another double dose for the project 365!  This was 2 weeks of cleaning out the hoover, playing incy wincy, stocking up on nappies, looking at pretty sunsets, snoozing with Daddy and seeing baby number 2 for the first time!

Robinson Family session, Singleton Park                                  Swansea portrait photographer

A few weeks ago I met up with the lovely Robinson family to make the most of the sun and have a family photo session in Singleton park.
This was in the middle of the crazy heatwave we were having in Swansea so we kept it nice and low-key.  Lots of lounging around and enjoying the peace of the park – perfect!
How perfect is this location for a set of family portraits?!  I’m always amazed at how much Singleton Park has to offer, there are so many areas to explore.  This bridge is in the botanical gardens and is a lovely little spot.
Look at those gorgeous eyes!  I’m pretty sure he was trying to spot a squirrel up a tree at this point!
After we left the Botanical gardens we headed out across the grass to find a bit of shelter under the trees.  On the way we had to stop so Daniel could pick some flowers and find out if Claire liked butter!  So sweet!

Do you like butter?

Family portrait Swansea

Hmmm, do I like butter?!

I think we spent about 2 hours exploring the gardens and the park and enjoying the sunshine.  Claire, Robbie and Daniel had a fun afternoon out spotting squirrels, chatting, playing, picking flowers and laughing and I got to come along for the ride!  This family are just so nice to spend time with, so clearly enjoying being together!  It was lovely to be able to capture some of these moments.
I love these last two family portraits.  What child doesn’t like being swung while holding hands with his parents?!
If you’d like some family photos of your own like these then please contact me here or head over to my Facebook page, give me a ‘like’ and send me a message!
